All PCBs in this class will be milled on the Bantam tools PCB Mill!!

By the seat:  IED Electronics Training// CIRCUIT BOARD CONSTRUCTION/THEORY (5 DAY) 40hrs

  • Day 1- PIC Programming with the Improvised Electronics PIC Board// Build two PIC IEDs with sensors and Hope RF.

  • Day 2- Build High Voltage Fire Set Controlled with IE PIC Board

    •  

  • Day 3- Troubleshooting//Eagle CAD// Draw and Print RFT-2 Boards

    •  

  • Day 4- 3D print and build drone based munitions dropper

    •  

  • Day 5- Future IEDs// Build two devices with android based processors using digital image processing and mesh network communication

All kit and training materials will be provided and retained by the students at the end of the course. Expect to complete this challenging course with materials to go back and train your unit. We will ship your kit back to your unit for you.

  • Integrate sensors into micro-controller based designs

    •  

  • Integrate various COTS RF Modules with a PIC Circuit

    •  

  • Build a drop system for releasing ordnance from a UAS

 

This IED Electronics training course reveals why modern electronics offer the terrorist a huge range of options for device design and construction. This course provides a practical comprehension of devices such as collapsing circuits (traditional and solid state), modification of commercial technologies for use in IEDs and RCIEDs, including DTMF and other coding systems. The course begins with an outline of electrical theory and Ohm’s Law, followed by an introduction to a wide variety of electronic components. Emphasis is placed on the characteristics of electronic components and circuits which make them attractive to the terrorist and those that cause training devices to fail. The minimum possible theory is presented with most of the work being practical, hands-on, circuit building, micro-controller programming, and CAD drawing.
